What kids actually do here

Six things on the loop that are theirs, not just yours to look at.

Kid zoneJump fun

A place to burn off the excitement partway round, so the rest of the walk goes better for everyone.

Sit downChristmas movies

Classic Christmas films playing on site — a warm ten minutes off their feet when they need it.

Quiet tableColoring

Coloring sheets and a table to use them at, for the kids who want the calm option.

Take it homeFree ornament craft

Every child makes an ornament and takes it home. It goes on your tree, and next year they will remember making it.

On the loopPhoto spots

Lit tunnels, giant bulbs and the North Pole sign — built at kid height as well as adult.

HalfwayCocoa and treats

Hot cocoa and sweet treats for purchase. Bribery is a legitimate parenting strategy in December.

The honest version. We would rather you arrive knowing what the evening looks like than find out at 8:30PM with a tired three-year-old.

What each age gets out of it

Useful if you are bringing a spread of ages in one group.

Babies and toddlersThe lights do the work. Keep them in the stroller, take the loop slowly, and expect to be back at the car within the hour.
Ages 3 to 6The sweet spot. Jump fun, the ornament craft and the tunnels land hardest at this age, and the music holds their attention.
Ages 7 to 11Old enough to notice the lights are timed to the song. Let them lead the walk and pick the photo spots.
TeenagersThey will claim not to care and then take forty photos. The display is built to look good on a phone in the dark.
GrandparentsFlat ground the whole way and benches to sit on. Senior discount is $2 off per ticket with valid ID at the gate.

About an hour for the walk. Longer if you stop for cocoa, the movies and the kid zone — most families plan on ninety minutes.

The music is at conversation level rather than concert level, and the paths are lit the whole way. Come at 6:00PM when it is quietest if you are unsure.

Restrooms are on site. Call 480-719-6520 before you visit and we will tell you exactly where they sit on the loop.
